Sorry to hear about your rescheduling Brian and MsLusty. It sucks that it got so close to your time before you had to change appointments, Brian. I'm glad I at least had a couple days notice. I went on the ECOtality site and signed up for the eco-project. There was an option to state that you are planning to get a Leaf so I wonder if I might qualify for one of the free charging stations. After I signed up the site said I had to go reserve a car. I'm still looking forward to the assessment because it will give me an idea of the cost if I end up going with AV.

*Edit* Hmm, not that I think about it, I might not get a free one because I'm technically in Orange County. :)

I am located in Laguna Beach, CA.  My service provider is Aliso Electric; my appointment window was between 8 & 12 yesterday, July 5th. Last Friday I got a confirmation call from the office reminding me of the appointment. At 8:05 Daniel phoned to say he was outside my house. He checked my main panel and sub-panel, then indicated we had what he needed for a standard installation, which he indicated should be about the first week of October. Pricing to follow by email. He did say that they allow the charger to be installed up to 30 feet from box without extra charges. He also asked if I preferred a 15 or 25 foot charger cord; I elected 25 feet. (Though he did not indicate and I did not ask if there is a price differential). He did not ask for any money ( I had read that some were being asked to pay $100 at the time of the evaluation). I was quite impressed.  Daniel was very nice and very knowledgeable.  Now, if only I could actually sit in and drive a Leaf.

My re-scheduled appointment has come and gone. Still no assessment completed at my place. Apparently Hammer Electric is not servicing my area, even though all the Nissan emails and website say they are. Expecting a third appointment to be scheduled by phone tomorrow with a different electrician. Hoping #3 goes well.

Does anyone here have a success story about an install of their charging station? Did Nissan send it home with you in the trunk? I'm looking to get my company off the ground with a splash, and I am offering a FREE install of your charger. Yup, free. I'll have a Master Electrician at your house, with me (and a shovel, screwdriver, and other implements of destruction) to install your charger as soon as you call. In fact, even if you DON'T have the charger, I'll bring one. We're in Michigan, so may take us a day or so to fly there. Check us out at www.delta-powersystems.com. We're for real. Call me at (313)815-0443 to arrange your installation. It's 11:30 PM EST now, so you left coasters should see this and call right away. Love to do a few while I'm out there. Not sure who Hammer Electric is, but we'd be happy to do it for you.  Please check my other posts, and if you call me (313-815-0443) first, we can be there to do your install within a day or so (coming from MI).  Do you have the charger there?  If so, great.  If not, I can bring one (not an AV model, but one of their competitors - same standard).  I know it sounds nuts, but I'm starting an installation company and can use a few success stories
