Leaf UpdateSo Nissan has started sending out emails to "request a quote" from your dealer. I got mine this afternoon and jumped! We'll see what Boardwalk Nissan does now ;) (hey Brendan, remember all those kind words I had, would ya?)

"Hi Chris. We have some exciting news. You can now request a quote* from your local Nissan Dealer and place an order for your Nissan LEAF™.

We appreciate your support of Nissan LEAF, and we're happy to say that you'll soon be one step closer to owning one.

To get started, click below."

I priced the car out at just over $35k, and said I was interested in Leasing the car. I figure if I'm ever going to lease a car this will be it. I don't hold on to cars for very long, so a 3 year Lease will actually be pushing it for me, but I'm gonna be a father soon, perhaps it's time to grow up :D

The BIG DAY is getting closer. I had a contractor run the cable from from the breaker box to the garage. Nothing has been connected yet because I'm not quite sure of the of the breaker size needed. I hope that by running the line now, I will be in great shape when the time comes to install the charger. I am being told by the dealership that I can expect to take delivery in the MAR/ APR timeframe.

Tkrguy - Did you get a quote from Aerovironment and then go with your own contractor? Are you able to just buy the Aerovironment charging station. Please let us know who you are installing your charging station.

Because AV is a west coast company, I'm not sure they will be doing the east coast installs. There are more than a few companies making chargers. My research leads me to believe EVRGREEN (levitron) is looking for electrical contractors to certify as company reps/installers. I'm working wIth the electrical company to obtain certification so they will be an installer for the Washington, D.C. area. Why wait for AV when any qualified electrican can run the wire. When the charger is ready for sales, a certified electrician can complete the installation. So far, I haven't been told "no",'so i'm pushing ahead.

Just talked with a friend at church. She is a vice president at the company I used to install my wiring for the charging equipment. I was eager to tell her about my new EV from Nissan. She told me that they had signed a contract on SEP 17 with Nissan to be the Aeroviroment rep for the Washington D.C. Area. I'm excited!
