As expected, the electric contractor said I would have to change to a gas dryer due to lack of capacity on my panel/service from the street. 
Now I'll have to find out how much a new gas line will cost, plus new dryer.  Kind of ironic going to a gas dryer when I have solar power!

Oh man, that would suck. We just bought a brand new HE washer/dryer set with an electric dryer. Our electric panel is on the opposite side of the house from the garage, but there's 220 run there for the dryer, so I'm not sure what they're going to say we have to do.
